Betty Lou Keith, 93, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, in a local hospital. She was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in many ways for 62 years. She loved her church family.
She was a generous woman, not untouched by grief and hardship, but resilient despite it. She worked hard to ensure her family would never be without, and would give every penny she had if someone was in need of it. She lost sleep over the thought of needs she couldn’t meet, and she constantly fretted over the wellbeing of those she loved. Betty was a picture of love and faithfulness; beloved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren she helped raise. She dedicated every moment of her life on earth to the lord and her family. She loved to laugh and was never too proud to laugh at herself. She enjoyed baking, sharing food with family and friends, reading the bible, and spending hours in deep study. She loved gardening and she loved driving.
Betty Lou Keith was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee Keith; son, Terry Cassell; stepson, Daniel Keith; daughter, Martha Lee; parents; James Fred Hardin and Myrtle Wyrick; granddaughter, Cody Jarvis; brothers, Paul Hardin, Carl Hardin, Gary Hardin, and Roy Grisham, Jr.; sisters, Emma Jean Graves, Audrey Vetter, and Norma Short.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane (Jerald) White and Rebecca (Pat) Jarvis; stepson, Timothy (Kelly) Keith; grandchildren, Jerry (Heather) Lee, Jr., Patrick Jarvis, Jr., Shannon Cassell, Zoe Cassell, and Hannah Cassell; great-grandchildren, Mariah Lee, Helen Jarvis, Sarah Jarvis, Caelie Jarvis, Titus Jarvis, and Patrick Jarvis III; siblings, David (Gail) Hardin, Donald Hardin, James Hardin, and Tommy Grisham; sisters, Ann Harris and Carolyn Kimball; and beloved niece, Vickie (Aaron) Adams.
Visitation will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home-East Chapel, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN 37412, on April 13, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow. Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com
