Bettye “Nonie” Ellis, 89, was called home by her heavenly father on Friday, July 20, 2018. Residing in East Ridge over 60 years, she was very active in her community and church, Spring Creek Road Baptist Church in which she had been a member for over 60 years. Bettye volunteered services with several area organizations including the Hamilton County Nursing Home and the Baptist Children’s Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Grady Austin Ellis, daughter Linda Day and grandson Dustin L. Day.
Bettye is survived by her best friend Dot Burns, daughter Rhonda (Jeff) Harbison, grandchildren Holly Bittenbender, Dusty Day, Heather (Justin) Jones, great-grandchildren Correy and Aubrey Bittenbender, Kate and Will Chambers, Dustin Day Jr., many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 23, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. James Julian officiating. Interment will follow the services at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
