He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Elmer Phipps and Edna Doris Crabtree Phipps, and a brother, Sam Phipps.
Left behind to cherish Wayne’s memory are his children, Patricia Phipps, Christopher Phipps and Marisa (Michael) Johnson, grandchildren Blake Green, Shelby Phipps, Karly (Dakota) Swinney, Savannah (Allen) Forester, Madison and Mason Johnson River Choate, and Tiffany and Breann, great-grandchildren Levi, Braydon and Grayson, brother, Allen Phipps and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening October 19, 2021 from 5 to 9 pm. Wayne will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.
