He was born on August 26, 1951 to Jack S. and Majel R. Akins who both preceded him in death.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted son, Jeffrey A. Akins
(Alexandra); grandchildren, Shea, Emma and Logan, all of East Ridge;
sister, Peggy "Happy" Moyer, Hixson; brothers, Steve Akins (Verla), Cleveland;
David Akins (Jean), Ringgold; Glen Akins (Pat), Ringgold; along with numerous
aunts, uncles and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
