Doris June Lowrey

She was born in Chattanooga on January 6, 1930 to the late Charles Arthur and Mary Lee Elliott.

She worked for and retired from Dixie Yarn as a winder operator. June was an active member of Westside Baptist Church. She loved listening to the Bill Gaither’s gospel music, watching westerns, flowers and bird watching.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Lowrey, her aforementioned parents, and a sister, Wanda Raines.

She is survived by her children, Bill (Laura) Wilson, Tena (Johnny Wayne) Tullis, Michael Wilson, and Tommy Wilson, Grandchildren, Carissa (Chris) White, and Farrah Cochran, Great-Grandchildren, Ava Cochran; Camryn White; Aerabi Cochran, and Charly White, brother, Charles (Phyllis) Elliot, sisters, Katherine Davis and Laura Raines, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

A Celebration of June’s life will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at 12:00 pm, with Bro. Gary Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Tuesday August 8, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Ebeneezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Bryant, AL.

Memorial contributions may be made in June’s memory to Westside Baptist Church, 3399 Lakeview Drive, Rossville, GA 30741.
