Ella Mae Gardner, age 94 of Chattanooga died Monday January 24, 2011 at the Stratford House Consulate Health Care. She was born November 5, 1916 in Lancaster, KY the daughter of the late Ancil and Debbie Ann (Meaders) Meadows. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Gardner, a son James Edwin Gardner, sister Elsie Meadows, brothers Kelly Meadows, Emmett Meadows, and Earl Meadows. She was a member of the East Ridge Baptist Church and of the American Legion Auxiliary post 95.
Survivors include daughters Marsha G. (David) Loggins of Snellville, GA and Sheri G. (Gordon) Jones of Hixson, sister Edith Hinkle of Nashville, TN, brother Paul (Anna) Meadows of Lancaster, KY, two grandchildren , six great grandchildren nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday 12:00 pm in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Wednesday evening.
