Dorothy Eloise Ramey, 80, of Chattanooga went home to be with the LORD Thursday September 20, 2012. She was born January 4, 1932 in Chattanooga to the late Louis and Louise Eller. She was preceded in death by her first husband James Howard Brackett, Sr. Mrs. Ramey dedicated her life to children each one came to love and know her as “Mammaw”; she kept many in her home sharing her love with several generations of the same families.
Survivors include her husband Craig Ramey; sons Allen Ramey and James H. Brackett, Jr.; brother Billy Eller; grandchildren Larena Ward, Michael Brackett and Nicholas Brackett and great grandchildren Emma Grace Ward, AnnaClaire Ward, Rebekah Ward and Mary Eloise Brackett.
Funeral services will be 2:00 Sunday September 23 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. John Burkett and Dr. Richard Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memorial Gardens West.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 3-7.
