Evelyn Drinnon Massey, 86, of Chattanooga died Friday September 9, 2011 at her home. She was born April 24, 1925 in Chattanooga the daughter of the late Oscar and Manola Drinnon. She was preceded in death by her husband Buddy Massey, grandson Tory Massey, brothers Bill and Jim Drinnon, sister Catherine Smith.
Mrs. Massey retired from AT&T in 1990. Until her illness Mrs. Massey was an active member of the St. Elmo United Methodist Church, Chancel Choir and Bradford Sunday School Class. She was a 1943 graduate of Central High School.
Survivors include daughter Janie Clopton; son Larry (Janet) Massey; sisters Margaret Brown, Betty Case and Barbara Cornwell; brother Bob Drinnon.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her sister-in-law Carol Drinnon for her special care and attention.
Funeral services will be Monday September 12 at 11:00 am in East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Mark Dowell officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-7 Sunday afternoon and Monday from 10-11.
