She worked in early childhood education for Hamilton County Schools and was a long-time member of Brainerd United Methodist Church. Her joy in life was her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Austin and Florence Sutton the love of her life husband Lieutenant Colonel Hoyt Blackburn, sisters Naomi Tartar, Eloise Bates and brothers Leroy Morrison and Loyd Sutton. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son Frederick Blackburn, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, February 28, 2025 at Forest Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Bracken officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 AM to 12 PM Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN.
