He was born March 25, 1921 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents G. E. and Minnie McPherson, brother G. E. McPherson, Jr. and a sister Dorothy O’Brien. He was a member and deacon of the Brainerd Church of Christ. He retired from Dorsey Safety Products with fifty years of service. Mr. McPherson served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942-1946.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Frances Barnes McPherson; daughters Janet McPherson, Cindi McPherson Howard and Karen (Joe) Brantley; grandchildren Matthew Howard, Joshua Howard, Aaron Howard and Scott McPherson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 1:00 in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Minister Bruce Wooley officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-7.
