

James K. Myatt, 84, of Chattanooga passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 in a local hospital. He was a member of St. Elmo United Methodist Church, the Bradford Sunday School Class, sang in the choir and served on many committees. A graduate of City High School class of 1948, Mr. Myatt was retired as a Nuclear Quality Engineer with Combustion Engineering after 40 plus years of service. He served in the National Guard in Germany during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jadena Head Myatt; sister, Mildred Mink, brother, Harbert “Hobby” S. Myatt, Jr., sisters, Aileen Hope and Anna Thomas.
Survivors include two sons, Brian (Kristi) Myatt of Chattanooga and Bruce (Pam) Myatt of Huntsville, AL; two daughters, Becky Myatt of Chattanooga and Beth (Stacey) James of North Attleboro, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Brianne, Keith (Heather), Danna, Julianna, Brent, David, Jonathan and Kylie; sister, Marie Beck; two brothers-in-law, A.C. Thomas and Thomas (Nancy) Head; sister-in-law, Louise Daugherty; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday at St. Elmo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe-d DowlingSoka and the Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road and from 12 – 1 PM Friday at the church.
