Jimmie Curtis Knox, Sr., 73, of Chattanooga passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 in a local hospital. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Jimmie was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a paratrooper and was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway as an engineer. He was a member of the Railroad Retirees Group.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Curtis Knox, Jr. and a daughter, Samantha Christine Knox.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jane Knox; children, Tammie Knox, Cindy Hornsby, Samuel Knox and Jonathan Knox; eight grandchildren, James Lowery, Justin Lowery, Melissa Hyde, Savannah Jenkins, Christopher Knox, Heather Knox, Hannah Knox and Mason Knox; two great-grandchildren, Chase Lowery and Ethan Lowery; one brother, Leon Knox; one sister, Bobbie Knox.
A prayer service will be held at 2 PM Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
