John C Mitchell of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed on Monday morning September 5th surrounded by family in the intensive care unit in Chattanooga at Erlanger Hospital. He leaves behind a son, Jeff Mitchell of Rapid City, South Dakota, grandchildren, Katie Lindsey of Rome, Georgia, Taylor Mitchell of Rapid City, South Dakota, Tyler Mitchell of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Christian Lunsford of Rapid City, South Dakota. John proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was widowed by Judy A Mitchell. John was Judy's main caretaker. He was an engineer by trade. He owned his own company Sign Recognition Inc. He retired and served his community by helping animals in need in the north Georgia areas. He worked with Second Chance Animal Sanctuary and Eleventh Hour in NJ to help find homes for animals. There will be a service at 11:45am Saturday, September 17, 2022 for John at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Fannin County 527 Forge Mill Road, Morganton, Ga 30560.
