

Dr. Nora Kathleen Conner (Stone), age 84, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, surrounded by many members of her loving family after a graceful and courageous battle with dementia. Kathleen was born in Chattanooga, TN on August 26, 1940 to John and Nora Stone. A lifelong lover of both learning and teaching, Kathleen enjoyed a successful career in education and school administration at several schools in the Chattanooga area, including Our Lady of Perpetual Help and East Brainerd Elementary School. After retirement, she filled her time with volunteer work, ministering to the sick, and spending time with her large family and countless friends. Her devotion to her Catholic faith was unwavering, and she was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Soddy Daisy, TN. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate, Jack Conner, as well as two of her sisters, Jeanette and Martha Stone. In death, she has left many here on Earth who cherish her memory, including her daughter Judy Conover (David), granddaughter Olivia Jernigan (Malcolm), sisters Agnes Stone, Mary Ann Schenk, Ginny Ragghianti, and Barbara Wilson, stepdaughters Diane Jordan (Louis) and Cindy Jenkins (Will), stepson Joe Conner (Kim), step-grandchildren Andrew, Katie Jo, Will, Jeff, Caroline, Brian, Derek, and Kyle, along with many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and innumerable others. The family invites you to join them in celebrating Kathleen’s life and legacy. Arrangements are set for Friday, September 20, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (501 S Moore Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37412). Visitation will occur from 10:00am-12:00pm in the Holy Family Hall with funeral mass immediately to follow. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Kathleen’s honor to The Apostles of Jesus for the New Evangelization (c/o Fr. Augustine Idra, 829 Main St, North Hampton, PA 18067) or The Alzheimer’s Association.
