Kerby was a hardworking man who valued education. A graduate of North Panola High School in 1970, he continued his studies at Northwest Junior College, earning an associates degree in 1972 before completing his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1987. He worked as a controller across multiple companies, always dedicated to providing for his family.
A devoted husband to Linda Brown, Kerby was a proud father to Kraig Brown (Jennifer Seay), Karen Walther (Dane Walther), and Jenny Harwood (Jordan Harwood). He cherished his six grandchildren: Melea, Cade, and Emma Walther, and Natalie, Peter, and Fynn Harwood.
Beyond his professional life, Kerby had many passions - playing Guild Wars 2, watching Marvel movies, following baseball, and engaging in strategic games like chess. He also loved concerts and theater performances. His dry sense of humor was well known among his children.
A man of faith, he was a member of First Baptist Boynton in Florida and later followed Southbrook Church online. His love for Jesus was evident in the way he lived—with generosity of time, talent, and resources.
A memorial gathering will be held on April 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Walther Residence in Madison, AL. The family will come together in a casual setting to remember Kerby and share cherished memories.
Kerby’s quiet strength and unwavering dedication to those he loved will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love and generosity will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.
