Lawrence was born February 17, 1935 in Kewanee, IL, to the late Peter A. and Anna C. (Euchaski) Van Wassenhove. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Lawrence worked for General Electric Company for 42 years and he retired in 1997.
Lawrence was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Chattanooga, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Leonard Van Wassenhove, and younger brothers, Dennis and Bernard Van Wassenhove.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy Van Wassenhove of Ooltewah, TN.; daughter, Nanette Marie Van Wassenhove; son, Michael Jay Van Wassenhove and wife, Cynthia Van Wassenhove, of Atlanta, Ga.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday May 8, 2019 in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at11:00 a.m. with Father Mike Nolan and Father Jim Vick officiating. The family will receive friends in the Holy Family Hall one hour prior to service. Interment will take place in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
