Ray & Janice were so important to so many of us.  I remember many wonderful (and fun!) times with them, in their home, in Bible studies, visiting folks and many fabulous outings, always with a prayer heart to serve The Lord.  What great examples they were individually and as a couple of what is most important in this life. My Mom and I were driving up Tuttle Avenue about 2 weeks ago and my Mom was reminiscing about these wonderful loved ones...thank you so much for sharing them with all of us!  Our hearts go out to you and your family as you grieve the loss of Ray and rejoice in his homecoming.  He fought the good fight...

"Like father, like son" came to my mind as I thought of Ray J's going home to his reward.  I never knew Ray J's earthly father, but Ray J. surely bore a powerful resemblance to his heavenly father. And Grady bears an unmistakeable reminder of them both.  I knew Grady from our Lipscomb days and one of the best feelings I have ever known was the one I had when Grady came up to me after my first time at North Atlanta.  It had been only 15 years since we had seen each other.  Little did I know that I was about to be blessed with being adopted into the Braziel family.  Janice and Ray J. were truly children with hearts like God's.  Ray J. never wanted attention, but I doubt anyone who met him ever forgot him or his genuine love for them.  He was indeed a most special man because he made each of us feel special and loved.  He and Janice went to GACS one year on Grandparents Day to be grandparents for Katelyn and Nicholas so they would not feel different.  What a generous and giving couple! He was so proud of his wife, children and grandchildren, and all of us whom he considered friends.  And I am proud to have shared part of his life!

I have many fond memories of my favorite uncle, Uncle Ray and sweet Aunt Janice. Their home and hearts were always open to me, Scott and Mom and Dad. There were many holiday and family times with them when we were all in Sarasota. Ice milk floats with Vernors Ginger Ale, great stories from Uncle Ray's days in Detroit with his amazing ability to remember all his friends names. I took a memorable trip with them to visit Grady in Nashville and worshiped in several Churches of Christ with them.  His faith in Jesus Christ was confident and heartfelt. So wish I could be there Saturday Lynda and Grady. All our love and prayers, Bobby and Juanita.

It is with very heavy hearts that we are unable to join the rest of the family today due to health reasons.

We were welcomed into the Martin/Braziel family almost 40 years ago and we have treasured them as our own. We are very saddened by the loss of Ray, the patriarch of the family, but rest assured that he is surrounded by those he loves that have gone on before him. We loved him dearly and he will be sorely missed.

I feel blessed to know Ray and am pleased at how he blessed me through his son.

What a wonderfully good and kind man Mr. Ray was. We will always remember him as a devoted and loving servant of God. He is gone from us now, but think of the sweet reunion he and Mrs. Janice are enjoying at this moment.

I was so blessed to be able to call this man "Grandpa."  He was such a powerful influence in my life.  He was a true family patriarch.  He took his responsibility as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, son, and christian with pleasure.  He truly had a heart full of love for God and family.  There will be a big hole left in the family and at the reunions.  But he has just experience a glorious reunion that we can't even begin to image!!!  So many loved ones already on the other side.  He is not separated from them any more.  And he now sees his precious Saviour face to face!!!

I never had the honor to meet this man of faith. It is obvious that he was a man loved and treasured by his family and church. I do wish I could have met him and I hear he had lots of wonderful stories. As Sharon's sister in Christ and heart I have prayed daily for our Lord to strengthen her and Lynda as they have been walking through his last days with him. I now pray that our Lord will strengthen and comfort all of you as only He can. I am also rejoicing in the glad reunion of Mr. Ray and his heavenly family. What a wonderful hope in our Lord to have that day to look forward to. Blessed be the name of our Lord forever.

Uncle Ray will be missed and forever remembered as "the moon pie man".
We know he is at peace and loving the reunion with Aunt Janice and his  brother and sister.
"Gone but never forgotten".

We lost a kind soul, and a joyful person to be around. It is heartwarming to know that he is reunited with his wife, which he lost early on, and that he will be in the Kingdom of God.
