

She was preceded in death by her mother Regina Harris and her sister Betty Walker.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years Daniel R. Jernigan; daughter Amy Swift Jernigan (David Blakeman) of Falmouth, VA; brother John Harris (Doris) of Ringgold, GA; nephews Chris Harris (Tina) of Ringgold, GA; Ronald Walker (Linda) of Pittsburgh, PA and Todd Walker of Foxboro, MA.
Duplicate bridge was a great love of Reba’s. She served on the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) National Board of Governors; was appointed to the ACBL National Goodwill Committee and achieved the rank of Silver Life Master. She was very active in the Chattanooga Bridge Center where she had served as Club President, on the Board of Directors and was a sought after bridge teacher and bridge game director.
Extensive travel and reading were also loves of Reba’s. She truly never met a stranger and was a steadfast friend to many. Her effervescent love of life and giving nature never faded. Reba was a member of the Walden Club, Mountain City Club and Wolftever Fishing Club. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and was employed by Western Union.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, October 31, at the East Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 1, in the same location. Pallbearers will be Stan Carnahan, John Herrmann, Perry Voclain, Earl Rothberger, Mike Smelcher and Kyle Weems. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family thanks Dr. Michael Stipanov, the Dialysis Clinic at 1425 East Third Street and Memorial Home Health for their excellent and loving care.
