

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis. While serving Bob was able to receive his high school diploma. He was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church. Bob retired from BASF as a lead man in the shipping department after 20 plus years of dedicated service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Beulah Shannon and a brother, Leroy Shannon.
Left behind to cherish Bob’s memory are his wife of 55 years, Sharon Shannon, a son, Christopher Allen Shannon, grandchildren, Ariel Elizabeth and Aaron Lynn Shannon, and one great-grandchild, Piper Melvin, 2 brothers, Raymond (Nanette) Shannon and Terry (Darlene) Shannon, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation. Family will gather at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home for a private service. He will be laid to rest in the Lakewood Memory Gardens East with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be in made in Bob’s memory to Woodland Park Baptist Church.
