Sandra (as I sometimes called her Sam),

I am sorry I did not get to sit down and have a talk and nice visit with you before you left us, but I am sure you are resting in heaven after your battle with your sickness.  You were such a good friend to me in high school at Rockwood.  But I do remember there was a time I failed to be a friend to you and that was when we had a school trip planned and I backed out of going.  I'm so very sorry if I let you down.  Sandra, just a couple of things that are precious to me from our friendship in high school:  I remember that you would bring your knitting to school and I wanted to learn to knit, so you taught me.....left handed!  To this day, that is the only way I can knit!  The times that we would get together, mostly in the summertime, and we would call each other and say, "ok, let's start walking" and we would meet somewhere on the little country back road.  We would be so happy to see each other, just waving like crazy, and then spend the day either at my house or your house.  I was so poor, but you always seemed very comfortable in my little house which was so comforting to me!  So thank you!  One of these times we met, we hatched up a plan to pick blackberries and sell them in order to get a Beatles album to "share".  We did just that and I still have the album!  It's called "A Hard Days Night".  Again, a precious memory!  It always seemed so strange that you would move to Chattanooga at the exact time that I moved to Knoxville!  We both have done well, so the moves must have been good for us.  You have a lovely family and you will be missed greatly.  It was so good to see Phyllis....an instant connection was made when we saw each other.  I made it a point to look at all your quilts your family had on display on the TV......they are beautiful!!  I will miss getting your Christmas cards every year.......thank you so much for being so diligent in sending them.  Rest in peace my friend.

Sandra was a very good friend to me. We worked together for many years at the Ooltewah Branch of Cornerstone Bank. We had great times talking about our evil pools, her trying to teach me how to play Sudoku!(which I never did learn) I will cherish the quilts that my mom started and Sandra finished. I will think of her everytime I wrap my grandbaby in it. Your family is in my heart and Prayers.

We had fun times and crazy times, but always laughed our way through everything, on and off the clock.  I remember so much about Sandra; her fingers, calloused from quilting; her love of chocolate ANYTHING; and her hatred of green peas--she always picked them out of her chicken pot pie! I also remember that she loved each and every member of her family with her whole heart.  She is no longer with us, but I know I will always treasure my memories of Sandra and the fun we had together. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of us who loved her.

Chuck, Brian, Karen, Jeff, Rob, and Phyllis, you are in our thoughts and prayers.  Mom and I loved visiting Sandy, talking about genealogy stuff (when Uncle Gene was with us), seeing her quilting projects (the pictures are pretty, but don't do them justice), talking about crocheting, swimming, etc.  We have such precious and cherished memories of our time with Sandy.  One of my favorites is when Sandy came down to Cartersville when we moved to the new house in 2012, and she was fixing (and showing me how) the toilet paper holder (thank God Uncle Bob taught her how to fix things) and helping us unpack stuff.  She blessed us every time we visited, and we will miss her.  Love and prayers to all of you.

Prayers going up for the family. I worked with Sandra at our Gunbarrel location before she moved to the Ooltewah Office...we had some fun times. She is missed.
