She was born on January 18, 1916, in Monticello, Arkansas and was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. “Lefty” Wilson and son, Roy Howard Wilson.
Velva was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens of East Ridge.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. James Barker officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
