

Vicki graduated from Hixson High School in 1989 and received her associate's degree from Chattanooga State. She worked for Unum (formerly Provident) for 17 years and she ended her working career in the Human Resources Department for Orange Grove Center.
Vicki was an active member of Ridgedale Baptist Church for basically her entire lifetime. She was currently a member of the Disciples Sunday School Class. She was very involved in any activities with the Orange Grove Center, especially the Special Olympics and Dream League Baseball. She was an animal lover, especially her cats and dogs.
Vicki loved many types of crafting and crocheting baby blankets for friends and family. She enjoyed her trips to the Smoky Mountains and Townsend as well as her trips to the beach.
She will be remembered as a compassionate, devoted, faithful, kind-hearted, inspirational, loyal, thoughtful, and beloved person by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, David Anthony Porterfield, her father, Johnie E. Daniel, and her grandparents, Bill and Joyce Gilliland.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jim Porterfield, her mother, Janet Daniel, and her brother, Ben Daniel, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many in-laws.
A Celebration of Vicki's Life will be held on Saturday December 13, 2025, at 11:00 am at Ridgedale Baptist Church with Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am. She will be laid to rest in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens near her son following the service.
