Bill was a member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church. He worked as a service manager for Forrest Cate Motors for many years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard V. “Rickey” Guffey, his parents, Clarence and Estell Guffey, 2 sisters, Geraldine Morris and Murrel Wilbur.
Left behind to cherish Bill’s memory are his faithful wife of 66 years, Joyce Guffey, sons, William Arvil “Skip” Guffey, H. Eddie “Ed” (Carolyn) Guffey, and Jeff C. (Suzanne) Guffey, 4 grandchildren, Jacob; Christopher; Matthew, and Michael Guffey, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A Celebration of William’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Tuesday July 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Troy Walliser and Darrell Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest in the Lakewood Memory Gardens West in Tiftonia.
Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412.
