

Bill was born on October 31, 1940 to the late, William Ervin Queen Sr., and Mary Ellen Queen in Morganton, NC. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era as a B52 mechanic. After his military service Bill came home and began a career in Life Insurance Sales that spanned more than 35 years. He retired as an agent with American General. Bill was an avid sports fan and played every sport he could in high school and while in the military. He also played in a semi-pro baseball league while living in North Carolina. Bill was also a huge fan of the World Champion Atlanta Braves and the National Champion Georgia Bulldogs. Bill and his wife Carol were members of Jones Memorial UMC and past members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Savannah, GA.
He was preceded in death by his son William David Queen, his aforementioned parents and his brother Garrett Queen.
Bill was best known for lighting up a room with his outgoing personality, jokes and spreading love to everyone he encountered. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 41 years, Carol Ann Queen, who tirelessly cared for him as his health declined. He is also survived by his children Terri (Anthony) Rahaul, Robert (Tara) Maner and Marvin (Aimee) Maner, grandchildren Robert and Eric Campbell; Mary Welch; Sarah, Samuel, and Grant Maner; Jessica, David, and Dillon Diamond; and William Ebert, 7 great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.
A Memorial Service Celebrating Bill’s Life will be held Sunday September 4, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Jones Memorial UMC, East Ridge, TN, with Pastor Natalie Smart officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the church prior to the service.
