William Alex Watt Jr.

He was a member and Elder of the East Ridge Church of Christ. Alex was a former member of the Chattanooga Board of Realtors and of the Brainerd Masonic Lodge F & AM. He served on the East Ridge City Commission for 3 terms, served with the East Ridge Lions Club, Greater Chattanooga Children’s Home, and the Martin Boyd Retirement Home.

Alex was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Katherine Watt, father, William Alex Watt, Sr., and mother, Pernie Watt, and 1 brother, William G. Watt.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Marvegine Watt, children, Ann Cooper, Whitwell, Susan Hall, Ringgold, GA., Kathy Williams, Blanca, Texas, and Lynn Stewart, Cleveland, TN.,

9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Barbara Acuff, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Alex’s Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday July 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Charles Cochran officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Interment will be in the Chattanooga National cemetery with full military honors.
