

Born June 22, 1945 in East Stroudsburg, She was the daughter of the late Elwood and Minnie ( Balmoos) Capone.
Barbara was an incredible, inspiring individual. She graduated from The Oral School of Scranton at age 16. She then went on to work for the Burnley Workshop for 51 years where she enjoyed making things such as brushes, Christmas cards, she could do just about anything. Barbara enjoyed all the simplest pleasures of life, whether it would be shopping, crocheting, or even a ride in the car. If you knew Barbara, you would know she loved Lipstick, Jewelry, Purses, dolls, and especially her three sisters.
Barbara was a member of the Salvation Army East Stroudsburg Corp, where she loved to worship and socialize among her peers. She was a very special person, who will be sincerely missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
In addition to her parents, Barbara had been preceded in death by her Loving companion, Gordon Kresge, with whom she shared 26 years with before his passing. She was also predeceased by her uncles: John and Harold Balmoos; and her Grandmother, who she loved dearly: Sarah Balmoos.
Left to cherish her precious memory are her sisters: Robin Jena Capone and Caroline Gallagher, both of East Stroudsburg, and Gerry and Barry Haney, of Honesdale, Pa; her aunts: Thelma Balmoos and her husband Henry, of Stroudsburg, Eleanor Balmoos, of East Stroudsburg, and Edith Balmoos, of Marshalls Creek. Also, many nieces and nephews, a few great nieces, and a great nephew.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 10 am until the time of the service at The Salvation Army, 226 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Services will begin at noon, officiated by Major Mary Francis. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery, 501 Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
