

Born in Sugarloaf Twp., Columbia County on December 25, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Eugene F. and Harriet A. (Young) Kunkle. Bernice was raised in Pennsylvania, resided in Florida and relocated to Monroe County over 35 years ago. She enjoyed BINGO, playing cards, and crocheting.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband Richard Otto Henning who passed away in October of 1976; son, Dale Andrews; daughter, Harriet Gander; sisters, Velma Johnson, Flossie Case, Manion Hostetter, and Marguerite Clifford; brothers Alton Kunkle, J. Russell Kunkle, and Clinton Miller.
Surviving are sisters, Violet Border of Easton, Lillian Keiper and Norma Miller of Stroudsburg; niece and caregiver, Linda Klein and her husband George of East Stroudsburg and great niece and caregiver, Becky Smith and her husband Harvey of East Stroudsburg; grandchildren, Joseph and Thomas Andrews, Van and David Gander, and Deanna Childers; great-grandchildren and other nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with Rev. Dr. Edward C. Kimes, Pastor of East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, East Stroudsburg, officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg.
A public visitation will held on Thursday April 24, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
