
Born in Stroudsburg on October 24, 1937, he was a son of the late Chester Z and Lucy A (Williams) Serfass, and lived in the Stoudsburg area most of his life.
Chester was a Heavy Equipment mechanic and retired from Hanson Aggregates of Stroudsburg.
He was a past member of the Blue Ridge Cherry Valley Rod and Gun Club, Cherry Valley, and enjoyed the sport of hunting and fishing. Chester was a back yard mechanic and enjoyed fixing cars. In his free time he liked to watch Nascar racing and wrestling on T.V.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was an infant daughter Wanda Lee Serfass and a son Donald M. Serfass, a sister Jane Hartman and a brother James Serfass.
Surviving is his wife the former Olive Bogart of Goldsboro, 2 sons: William C. Serfass and his companion Pamela Umphrey of East Stroudsburg, and Robert M. Serfass and his companion Brenda of Drums, 2 daughters: Sandra Schock and her companion Ray of Brodheadsville and Deborah L. Jones and her husband David of Harrisburg, 2 sisters: Gloria Bisbing and her husband Daniel of Tannersville and Marjore Miller and her husband Steve also of Tannersville. 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 13, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street East Stroudsburg, with Rev. Dr. Stanley J. Menking officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery East Stroudsburg.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday August 12, 2011 from 7P.M. to 9 P.M.
