Donna Eloise Martinez

Born in Brooklyn on March 12, 1972, she was a daughter of the late Angela Allen, who passed away on June 28, 1994 and Joseph Jones, of Brooklyn. Donna graduated from Grover Cleveland High School. While living in Brooklyn, Donna owned and operated her own child care center. In 2006 she relocated to the East Stroudsburg section of Monroe County. She returned to college and graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Donna was currently employed as a substitute teacher for the East Stroudsburg Area School District. She was also employed as a hostess at the Olive Garden in Stroudsburg.

Donna was a member of the House of Prayer of Living God, East Stroudsburg; she was a loving and devoted mother to her three children, enjoyed traveling, and had a love for children and enjoyed her career as a teacher.

Surviving in addition to her father are her sons, Ashford Martinez Jr, Amir Martinez, and Aaron Martinez all at home in East Stroudsburg; brother, Gregory Allen of Brooklyn, NY; sisters, Denise Jones of Brooklyn, NY, and Judy Jones of East Stroudsburg; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 22, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with her pastor Rev. Carol Fernandez officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
