Errol Bartholomew Hood

Born in village of Santa Cruz, Trinidad, on September 24, 1934, he was the son of the late Lincoln and Roseanna (Tidd) Hood. Errol graduated from the Trinidad School System. In 1965 Errol and his wife relocated to the United States and was an electrician by trade. For many years he was employed journeyman electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 164, Union City, NJ, retiring in 2006. In 2007 Errol relocated to the Bushkill section of Pike County.

He was a member of the Saint John’s Roman Catholic Church, Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, and was active in the Monroe County Democratic Party. Errol enjoyed bowling, gardening, working on construction projects and traveling. He was a loving father to Leane and father-in-law to Daniel, brother-in-law to Albert Gill, Charles Gill, Mary Gill, Alice LaGuerre and Anastasia Forrest, and faithful cousin Carl Charles and Joan Dyer.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Catherine (Gill) Hood Bushkill; daughter, Leane Hood-Allen and her husband Daniel of Hillsborough, N.C.; sister, Roslyn Wharton of San Raphael, Trinidad; nieces, Helen Wharton, Bella Wharton Marsha Wharton and Winnifred Wharton all of San Raphael, Trinidad; nephews Hayden Wharton and Maurice Wharton also of Raphael, Trinidad;

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 26, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. in St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, 5171 Milford Road, (Village of Marshalls Creek) East Stroudsburg; interment will follow in Sandhill Cemetery, Sand Hill Drive, Shoemakers.

A public visitation will be held on Friday April 25, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg
