
Born in East Stroudsburg on May 1, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Catherine (Carl) Haymer. Gertrude graduated from Stroudsburg High School class of 1952 and was a resident of Monroe County all of her life.
Gertrude was employed at Ronson Lighter Corporation, and Shawnee Press, both of Delaware Water Gap, and retired from the East Stroudsburg WaWa.
She loved to read, enjoyed to catalog shop, and took great joy in financially helping Native American children.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband Bruno C. Hennings, Jr.; sister, Henrietta Quinn; brothers: Oscar Jr. and Raymond Haymer
Surviving are sons Bruno C. Hennings, III and his wife Catherine of East Stroudsburg and Hiram (Henry) Hennings of Easton; 6 grandchildren: Eric Parton Jr., Heather Hennings, Bruno C. Hennings, IV, Madelyn Hennings, twins Olivia and Jillian Hennings; 2 great-grandchildren: Madison and Roslynn Parton; dearest friends T.J. and Leon Prince; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church, 200 Broadhead Avenue, East Stroudsburg. Interment will be held at Prospect Cemetery, Prospect Street, East Stoudsburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the St. Matthews food pantry 200 Brodhead Ave, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
