
She was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on October 20, 1928, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Bajcura) Herstek. Helen graduated from Huntington Mills High School and continued her education at Kings County Nursing School, Brooklyn, NY and was employed as a nurse for Kings County until she started her family.
Helen was a member of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, the village of Marshalls Creek. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and gardening. Helen loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband of 42 years Joseph Feminella, who passed away in October of 1996, and brothers, William, Andrew, and George Herstek.
Surviving is her daughters, Anne Feminella and her husband William Orr, of Marshalls Creek, Sarajean Ciani and her husband Steve, of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Staines of Brooklyn, NY, and Alena Pazienza and her husband Louie, of Queens, NY; sons, Andrew Feminella and his wife Jackie of Staten Island, NY, John Feminella and his wife Kathleen, of Millburn, NJ, and Joseph Feminella and his wife Eileen, of Marshalls Creek; brothers, John Herstek and his wife Jenie of Lorain, OH, and Peter Herstek of Marshalls Creek; sister, Mary Coley of Midway, AR; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A public visitation will be held on Sunday August 3, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
Funeral services will begin on Monday August 4, 2014 at 8:15 A.M. from the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 9:30 A.M. in the Church of St. John Roman Catholic Church, 5171 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg with Rev. Father Jeffrey J. Walsh as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Rt. 93 Hazleton.
