Henry William Burch, Jr. passed away peacefully on May 5, 2013, at Pocono Tranquil Gardens, in East Stroudsburg.
Known as “Sonny” to his family and friends, he was a man who had a great work ethic, high integrity and interest in many subjects.
He was born on September 24, 1924 and lived most of his life in New Jersey before retiring to the Poconos more than 20 years ago. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, where he served on the submarine, USS Seahorse and was involved in heavy action in the Tsushima Strait and the Sea of Japan. After the war he worked as a Radio Repairman, but soon after started migrating to the newest technological marvel, television. In 1949, he met the love of his life, Jennette M. Brickley and they were married on February 19, 1950. They were completely devoted to each other for the past 63 years, which included adopting two sons, Henry and Thomas. In 1954 he started his own business, Technician’s TV, where he specialized in fixing TV’s that other TV repairmen were not able to fix. He ran his business until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elizabeth Appel Burch, his son Thomas J. Burch, and a brother, Robbie Burch.
His survivors include his wife, Jennette; his son Henry Burch and his wife Mary of Tyler, TX; brother Howard Burch and his wife Madeline of Nokomis, FL; sister Arleen Kloss and her husband William of Port Charlot, FL; Brother-in-Law, Jack Brickley and his wife Carolyn of Raleigh, NC and other nephews and nieces.
There will be a Graveside service held at the convenience of the family.
