Irene M Sharp

Born March 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Nada (Bacanyak) Simon of the Bronx, New York.

Upon graduation from Memorial High School in West New York, New Jersey, Irene met and married her late husband, Donald F. Sharp in 1958. They shared 22 years together before his passing.

Irene worked as a stenographer in the legal administration for the U.S. Navy. She also worked as a medical secretary for Pocono Medical for 21 years before retiring. With her free time, Irene enjoyed sewing, reading and craft making. She could create a variety of things; wreaths were among her favorite. Irene was a sweetheart and she will be missed dearly.

In addition to her beloved husband, Donald, and her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her son, Donald P. Sharp.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Lila Loevsky of Roselle Park, New Jersey, and Nadine Swanson of State College; her grandchildren: Drew, Anya, Erik, Ava, Steven and Ryan; her siblings: Alex Simon of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, and Elizabeth Granozio of Portland, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Brodhead Ave., East Stroudsburg. Interment will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery, 901 Bryant St., Stroudsburg.
