Mary Magdalene Strauss

Born in Hamburg, PA on March 20, 1915 she was a daughter of the late Lawrence R. and Ellen W (Reigner) Miller. Mary Magdalene was a graduate of the University of Georgia. She was a member of First Community Congregation al U.C.C. – Lehigh Acres, FL., for 25 years. Prior to that time Mary Magdalene and her husband was also founding members of St. Timothy’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Allentown, PA.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a loving husband of 65 years, Carl M. Strauss, who passed away on February 7, 2003, three loving brothers: Martin, Edgar and Larry Miller, two loving sisters: Margurite Kolbach and Estelle McWalters.

Surviving are her loving daughter: Mary Ellen and her husband Walter J. Brosman, of Northampton, PA; a son: Carl M. and his wife Ora Strauss Jr., of Ringtown, PA; and three loving grand children: Daniel Brosman, Adam and Krista Strauss. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday December 19. 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Egypt Community Church, in Whitehall, PA. with Pastor Larry Pickar officiating. Interment will be at a later date private to the family at Strausstown Union Cemetery in Berks County, PA.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Egypt Community Church, in Whitehall, PA from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
