
Born in Verona, NJ on August 7, 1922 she was a daughter to the late Earl and Catherine (Trebilcock) Griffin. Muriel was raised in the Verona area and graduated from Verona High School, Verona, NJ. She served her Country in the United States Army during WWII. Upon her honorable discharge Muriel optioned a position with the Overbrook Hospital, Cedar Grove, NJ; where she graduated from Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse. Muriel retired from Overbrook Hospital in Cedar Grove, after 20 years of service.
During her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved her dogs and enjoyed getting her hair done. Muriel also loved to watch television.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband of 49 years Anthony J. Mongiovi, Sr., infant daughter, Patty Mongiovi and daughter, Barbara King, brother, Richard Griffin and sister, Ruthie Hook.
Surviving are her children, Carol Grimm of Tafton, PA; Anthony J. Mongiovi, Jr. and his companion Kathy Johnson of Cherry Hill, NJ; Debbie Nicosia and her husband James of Albrightsville; sister, Nancy Dick of Syracuse, NY; grandchildren, Gary Kellstorm and his wife Tanya, David Kellstorm and his wife Cathy, Craig Kellstorm and his wife Gina, Anthony J. Mongiovi, III., Jason Mongiovi, Alicia Caldwell and her husband Tyson, Sharon Hayden and her husband Chris, Brian King and his wife Amber, Melissa Rasmussen and her husband Phillip, James Nicosia and his wife Jaime, Joseph Nicosia, and Lauren Langdon and her husband Billy, 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 2, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church 327 Cherry Lane Rd. Tannersville, PA with Rev. Fr. Richard Czachor, celebrant. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
A public visitation will be held on Monday April 1, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg,
