Suzanne Pope

Suzanne was born on December 18, 1956 in Niskayuna, NY to the late Matthew Conway and Lucille (Potter) Conway Regan. She spent most of her life as a resident of Tobyhanna, attended Pocono Catholic School and Pocono Mountain Jr. Sr. High School. She was a graduate of Churchman’s Business College and worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot for NAF and the Supply Directorate until becoming a fulltime homemaker.

A proud and talented Artist, Suzanne was well recognized in the juried painting community as an accomplished decorative painter. In addition to painting, she crafted many pieces from fabric, wood and tin. She was a member of Pocono Painters and The Pocono Mountain Arts Council. She received numerous “First Place” ribbons and awards for her work at GDS Fair and Art Competitions.

Quietly struggling and fighting cancer for the past eight years, Suzanne never focused or worried about herself. Always kind and caring for others, she stayed concerned and prayed for the wellbeing of family, friends and loved ones, often helping others through their journey with cancer. She was a great wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law and friend to many.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Leslie A. Pope, sisters; Kathleen Conway, Teresa Long and husband Robert, Sister-in-law Phyllis Williams, Brother-in-law Robert Pope, nephews; Marshall Pope and wife Tracy and Karl Pope and wife Karen and

several aunts, uncles, great nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws Robert and Emily Pope.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Samer Alkhuja, Dr. Steven Gold and the staff at Pocono Medical Center for their excellent care and compassion for Suzanne.

True to her desire to help others, Suzanne’s final wish was to donate her body to medical research with the hope that something could be learned from her disease to aid others.
