Carole Johanna Knapp Wolf-Ross passed away peacefully on June 16, 2023 at age 86 following an extended illness. She was born January 20, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to Stanley and Clara Knapp. She was the oldest of three children and the pride and joy of her parents. As a young girl she enjoyed many family vacations to Canada where she first learned to fish. She enjoyed ice skating and dancing at high school dances. A graduate from Central High School in Kansas City, she learned secretarial skills she would use later in life. She married Jack L. Wolf in July, 1954. Shortly thereafter, they started their family. Together they raised five children. Family baseball games, volleyball games, trips to various lakes for fishing and boating were some of the many things she enjoyed with her family. She and Jack participated in bowling leagues for many years. They shared a love of family, music, dancing, travel, countless good times and some hardships during their 45 years of marriage until Jack died suddenly in November, 1999.
Carole married Bobby (Bob) Lee Ross in November, 2003. They embarked on many adventures together including exploring the US coast to coast and even parts of Canada. They were active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond. They attended many concerts, both pops and classics, as well as touring Broadway productions. Bob supported and helped Carole during the 12 years she cared for her handicapped younger brother Dennie. Bob and Carole enjoyed 19 years of marriage during which Bob was a loving, devoted husband and cared for Carole during her extended illness.
Carole loved gardening, especially growing flowers. She loved time spent with her family, including all the family pets. She was beautiful inside and out; gracious, patient, loving and kind. Although she may have left us in this life, she continues to live on in our hearts and minds where we keep her close. A part of her will be with us always.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Jack Lee Wolf, parents Stanley and Clara Knapp, and brothers Orville Eugene Knapp and S. Dennis Knapp. She is survived by her husband Bob Ross of Edmond, OK, five children and spouses: Linda Wolf Wegener of Edmond, OK, Randall (Randy) Wolf of Oklahoma City, OK, Paula Wolf of Norman, OK, Donna Wolf Harwell and husband Clay Harwell of Broken Arrow, OK, Daniel (Danny) Wolf and wife Jennifer Wolf of Mustang, OK.
