Darrell Poppy Allan Smittle

Darrell was born the eldest son of Darrell Glenn and the late LaVerne Smittle on November 11, 1948. He and his brother Don grew up in southern California where Darrell met and married Shirley, the love of his life. The couple soon moved to Oklahoma. After living in the Tulsa area for many years, the Smittles moved to Edmond where Darrell was employed with International Environmental Corporation of OKC for over 20 years.

Darrell will forever be remembered by his beloved wife of 44 years, his three treasured sons, Bryan, Darrell, and Doug, and his three loving daughters-in-law, Sherri, Jill, and Brandi. His six precious grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Perri, Joshua, Carsyn, and Alexis will miss their “Poppy” dearly along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him.

Darrell enjoyed wood-working, flying, golfing, and golden retrievers. He cared for his family with extraordinary love and devotion.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, October 21, 2011, at 11am at Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73134.
