Dennis Lee Emery

Dennis Lee Emery (Denny), 86, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025. He was born April 5, 1939 in Wichita, Kansas to Dr. Frank Addison and Nellie Mae Emery. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brothers, Frank and Tom. Dennis is survived by his loving wife Kay of 64 years and 3 children, Brent Emery (wife Trudy), Bob Emery (wife Becky) and Julie Yowell (fiancé Pheland Lucas). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Travis Emery (wife Lauren), Clara Emery (fiancé Joe Deremer), Caylie Ballew (husband Evan), Jackson Emery (wife Sara), Jordan Yowell (wife Ashley), and Jorja Yowell as well as 2 step-grandchildren Shelby Youngblood (husband Zach), and Braelyn Robinson, and then 2 great grandchildren Beckham Emery and Jasper Ballew with a 3rd one on the way in June.

Dennis grew up in Wichita attending East High School where he excelled in almost every sport, but most importantly met the love of his life, Kay, as sophomores in English class nearly 70 years ago. They later married while in Stillwater before graduating from Oklahoma State University with two boys in tow. Julie came 7 years later as they made their home in Edmond. With his accounting degree, Dennis worked most of his career at Tinker Air Force where he retired in 2004. Denny especially enjoyed having his growing family close by for all the traditional and special occasions celebrated in their home. He loved his family very much and he will be missed greatly.

A visitation for Denny will be held Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and the family greeting with friends and family from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034.

A celebration of life will occur Monday, May 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Baggerley Funeral Home and interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
