Donald Francis Wieland, 88, was born to William & Alma Wieland in Emporia, Kansas. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen, on February 12, 2020. Don grew up in Emporia with one brother and 2 sisters who all worked, at one time or another, for their family grocery store. Don and Kathleen met on a blind date and were married in 1952 while he worked for the Kansas City Railroad and pursued a degree from Emporia State University. Their children, Debbie & Steve, were born in Emporia. After graduation, they moved to Ponca City, OK, where Don worked for Continental Oil for over 30 years. Don and Kathleen were transferred to Houston, TX, in 1973 and back to OK in 1985. They began square dancing while living in Ponca City and continued learning more during their time in Houston. They also began RV camping every chance they had which continued until they were in their 80’s. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling around the US, took a cruise, and a trip to Rome. Don was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Geoff) Russell of Sulphur, LA; son Steve (Cherry) Wieland of Eufaula, OK; granddaughters Alesha (Darren) Lucas of Sulphur, LA and Nicole (David) Burton of Eufaula, OK; grandson Neil Wieland of Oklahoma City, OK; sister Glory (Pete) Peterson of Minnesota; great-grandchildren Aiden, Breanne and Cassidy Lucas of Sulphur, LA; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Kathleen; mother and father, William and Alma, brother Bill & wife Addie, sister Rosemary, and grandson Mark Steven Wieland.

Private Graveside service will be held at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, OK.
