Evelyn Maxine Porter went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2017. Evelyn was born February 17, 1922 to John and Ida Boydston near Luther. Evelyn is preceded in death by John and Ida Boydston; 2 brothers, Orveal and J.C. Boydston; and sisters Florance Kime, Helen Scott, Mary Ann Fent, and Oma Lou Snyder.
She accepted her Lord and Savior into her heart on February 18, 1951 at First Baptist Church, Luther.
Evelyn and Mearl (Buddie) Abbitt were married February 18, 1944. They lived in Oklahoma City until Buddie’s death in 1953. Evelyn lived in Oklahoma City until she met L.A. Porter. They were married in Oklahoma City at Jefferson Baptist Church on January 5, 1967. They moved to Jones in 1986. L.A. died August 4, 1988. Evelyn continued serving her Lord at First Baptist Jones until her death. Evelyn will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City.
