Fern Velma Wood

Fern Beatty Wood was born October 9, 1914. She crossed over into eternity January 13, 2011. She spent her life in Oklahoma serving her family and friends for 96 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Fillmore Beatty; her mother, Lorena Esther Beatty; her brother, James Robert Beatty; her sister, Mamie Myrtle Beatty; her husband, Paul Wood; her son, Paul Wood Jr. and a grandson, Barry Wayne Wood.

She was an extraordinary mother, living out her Christian values before every family member, everyday. She was talented in multiple crafts and loved making things for family and friends. She produced exquisite items that will be cherished. She ended her work career in 1979 at Western Electric.

Fern is survived by her daughter, Kaye Hicks and husband, Clayton James Hicks; her daughter-in-law Marilyn Wood; grandchildren Sherri Stangle and husband, Ken Stangle; Clay Hicks and wife, Gayle Hicks; Jeff Hicks and wife, Cindy Hicks; Denise Shepard and husband, Steve Shepard; her great-grandchildren Adam Hicks, Caitlin Thompson and husband Landon Thompson, Alston Hicks and wife Kerri Hicks, Tabatha Graham and husband, Scott Graham, Ashton Hicks, Aubrey Thomason, Garrett Shepard, Sarah Shepard, Keaton Shepard, Luke Shepard; three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
