

Flossie was born on July 22, 1925 in Granite, Oklahoma to James Robert and Alma Bell Moss. She spent her childhood in Lone Wolf, OK where she attended school.
Flossie met and married Floyd Barnett in 1945 and they made their home in Norman, Oklahoma. Flossie earned her Licensed Nurse Practitioner certification and worked as a Nurse at the Noman Regional Hospital, various Doctor’s offices and Nursing Homes in Norman, Oklahoma over a period of forty years. Her favorite areas of nursing were in the Emergency Room and OB/GYN areas at Norman Regional Hospital and helping residents of the nursing homes where she worked.
Flossie accepted her Lord and Savior at age sixteen and was a devoted Bible student and mentor for all the rest of her 96 years. She taught Sunday School classes to 12-year-old girls while attending First Baptist Church in Norman and women’s Sunday School classes later while a member of Robinson Street Baptist Church, also in Norman. Flossie helped to plan hospitality events and the special event meals at Robinson Street Baptist, and was always willing and eager to serve others.
Flossie married again to Roy Young of Norman and, after his death, she married Arthur Hester, also of Norman.
Flossie was proceeded in death by her husbands: Floyd Barnett, Roy Young and Author Hester, all of Norman, Oklahoma; brothers, J. B. Moss of Chelsea, Oklahoma, and Dale Moss of Claremore, OK; and sisters, Joyce Townsend of Rusk, Texas, and Fern Moss of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma.
Flossie is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Jean Morris and husband Thurman of Oklahoma City and Sharan Kay Yust and husband Gary of Edmond, Oklahoma; sons, Larry Floyd Barnett of Lexington, Oklahoma and Terry Hester and wife Tonya of Alex, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Paul Morris of Monet, MO, Jeffrey Yust and wife Caren of Edmond, Debbie Pratt and husband Pierce of Norman, Rachel Neely of Edmond, and Phillip Morris and wife Angie of Norman; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Lottie Mae Appleman of Lexington; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Memorial services will be held at Robinson Street Baptist Church in Norman on Jan 4th, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ivan Moore officiating.
Flossie is now enjoying her well-deserved rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
