Glenda Sue Waul, nee Mason, passed away peacefully at home in Edmond, Oklahoma after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s surrounded by her family. Glenda was born in Thackerville, Oklahoma on May 16th, 1947, to Vivian and Cleo Mason and was the youngest of three kids. Glenda was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School in 1965 and was acknowledged by her peers as Miss Chieftain. She later attended the University of Central Oklahoma where she studied business administration and worked for Kerr McGee Oil Company and American Fidelity. Glenda married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Edward Waul on August 19th, 1967, and together they raised two children, Greg and Ashley. Glenda was always active in her kids’ schools and extracurricular activities including time spent at Quail Creek Elementary, Heritage Hall and Bishop McGuinness. Glenda thoroughly enjoyed playing doubles tennis with her friends at the Greens Country Club in her free time. She also was a member of the Edmond Women’s Club and other philanthropic organizations. Glenda was lucky enough to share a regular bunco group with many close friends for several decades. Those friendships, discussions and good times spent together meant the world to her.
In her later years Glenda enjoyed fishing at the lake with Ron and the occasional trip to a local casino. Glenda was also passionate about antique collections including Hull pottery and crystal knife rests which she proudly displayed throughout her home. As Greg and Ashley became parents, Glenda proudly took on the new role of NeNe to her five grandkids whom she adored. Glenda’s favorite time of year was Christmas and even with her failing health she made sure that everyone had a specific gift from her. Glenda loved her family, extended family, and cherished the role she played as a wife, sister, aunt, loving mother and grandmother.
Preceding Glenda in death are her parents Vivian and Cleo Mason, her brother Gaylon Mason, and sister-in-law Donna Mason.
