John Charles “J.C.” Swanson, 79, a longtime resident of Edmond, Oklahoma, and owner of J.C. Swanson's Fireplace and Patio Store in Edmond, Oklahoma, died on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the home of his daughter, Beverly (Swanson) Hayden. J.C. was born on March 4, 1937 in Crescent, Oklahoma to John Arthur Swanson and Velma Violet (Harmon) Swanson of Crescent, Oklahoma. J.C. grew up in Crescent and graduated in the Crescent High School Class of 1955. He then moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1955 when he attended Central State College. He married Mary Alice (Scheihing) Swanson on February 14, 1959. They lived in Edmond, Oklahoma from 1959 to current date.
J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, John Arthur Swanson and Velma Violet (Harmon) Swanson and his brother, Robert Lynn Swanson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice (Scheihing) Swanson; his son, Charles Allen “Al” Swanson; his daughter, Beverly Sue (Swanson) Hayden and son-in-law, Robert W. “Bob” Hayden, all of Edmond, Oklahoma; his sister, Juanita Marie (Swanson) Rigdon and husband Alfred Rigdon, of Crescent, Oklahoma and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
