

Karen is survived by her husband, Brady of 58 years; her son Eric; her daughter-in-law Julie; her granddaughters Hannah, Abigail, Lydia, and Tabitha. She is survived by her grandson Jesse Roseberry; Jesse’s spouse Zandra, and twin great granddaughters.
Karen is survived by her family’s patriarch Phillip E. Mason and his spouse Ruth.
Karen is survived by her brothers Byron Tapley; Douglas Tapley his children Kyle, Kevin, Keith and Keri.
Karen is survived by her brother Donald and his spouse Angie; his son Joe Tapley, but not Joe’s twin Jeremie who is deceased.
Karen is survived by her beloved sister Patricia Irwin, whose spouse is Dale, and their children Jonathan and Matthew.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother Edith Frances Belvin Tapley and her stepfather Robert Tapley, Sr.
Karen was preceded in death by her loving father Harley D. Sharpe and her venerated and cherished stepmother Pauline Thompson Sharpe.
Karen was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Mason whose surviving husband is Phil Mason. Phyllis and Phill’s sons are Greg and Brad. Greg is married to Jenny and their daughters are Allison and Natalie.
Karen was preceded in death by her twin sister Sharon Kaye Long whose surviving husband is Gary. Sharon and Gary’s children are Reid Long and Deborah Essary. Sharon’s daughter, Deborah Essary, is married to Danny Essary and their children are Shaye and Dylan. Sharon’s son, Reid Long, is deceased. Reid’s children are named Justin, Ryan and Hunter.
Karen was preceded in death by her brother Robert Tapley Jr. who was married to Claudetta. Their children’s names are Ronnie, who is deceased, James and Teresa.
Karen was preceded in death by her brother Philip Tapley who was married to Mary, and their daughters are named Mimi and Laura.
Karen’s deceased brother Stephen Tapley had sons Adrian and Steve.
Karen was a 1963 graduate of Edmond Memorial High School. She met her husband, Brady, while she attended Central State College where she obtained a secretarial certificate.
Karen loved children and volunteered in the First Baptist Church nursery. She worked in child care elsewhere, and kept children in her home while raising her son Eric. She was employed in auto insurance and worked as bookkeeper and nurse’s assistant for a heart doctor.
Karen was a Christian and was a positive influence regarding church attendance and common sense.
Karen was a faithful member of Edmond’s First Baptist Church. Her health declined after she recovered from a stroke. She remained reverent and retained her Christian respect for God.
A visitation for Karen will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, June 27, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034.
A celebration of life will occur Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home.
