Kevin Christopher Walsh

Kevin Walsh, 72, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Kevin was born on January 23, 1951, to John and Rosalie Walsh in Dayton, Ohio. His family moved to Lebanon, Illinois, where Kevin grew up and graduated high school. After high school, Kevin received his Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Central State University, now known as The University of Central Oklahoma. While working as an EMT, he met Gerri who was working in the hospital at the ER. They started dating and fell in love. They married on a hot day in Lebanon, Illinois on August 7, 1977, and they had two sons, Brendan and Conor.

He was unapologetically himself and always wanted to spend time with family and friends. Kevin served his Edmond community as an EMT. A few of his hobbies included playing golf with his sons, cooking for friends and family, listening to classic rock or Irish folk music, and spending many hours laughing with his grandkids. His love language was cooking and loved to cook dishes that would soon become family traditions. He loved feeding people and when friends or family would oohhh or awe over his food it would put a smile on his face.

Kevin was a loving husband, dedicated father, fun gramps, good friend and kind-hearted person. He will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by his sons: Brendan Walsh and wife Megan and their son Callan, Conor Walsh and wife Kelli and their daughters, Nellie and Ruby; brother, Terri and wife Cynthia; close family friends Janice Statzer and Greg and Megan Kolsut, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents John and Rosalie Walsh; his wife of 45 years Gerri Walsh; and close family friend Tom Statzer.

The family will host a memorial service, Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Please contact Brendan at 405-414-4551 for the service location.
