

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Larry Eugene Travis, beloved husband, father, grandfather (“Pops”), brother, and friend, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 21, 2024 at the age of 78.
Born on October 13, 1946 in Lindsay, Oklahoma, Larry was the son of Mary Lou Tucker Travis (deceased) and Preston Lee Travis (deceased). He lived a life rooted in faith and service, always exemplifying integrity in word and deed.
Larry served in the US Navy, played football for Texas Tech, and graduated from ETSU. He was a longtime employee of Lanier Business Systems, beginning in sales and advancing to corporate management. Larry eventually became President and CEO of both Travis Business Systems and Digital Transcription Systems. He was known for his kindness, compassion, love, and devotion to family and friends. Always filled with laughter, Larry had a love for storytelling, political banter, OU football, and spending time at Grand Lake.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of over fifty years, Lydia Orr Travis, and his daughters, Aubrey Travis Sampson (husband Kevin) and Corey Travis Yeaman (husband Dirk), and by his cherished grandchildren: Eli, Lincoln, and Nolan Sampson; Ryken, Bryten, and Adeline Yeaman—all of whom brought endless joy to his life. He is also survived by his older sister Chloe Ann Thomason and younger brother Gary Travis. He was preceded in death by his oldest sister Mary Lee Travis Parker.
Larry will be remembered for his strong faith, sense of humor, and generous heart. He was an active member of Crossings Church where he served faithfully with his Centered Small Group and years of ushering. He was also an active part of his beloved Monday Night Group, a long-term small group committed to prayer and fellowship.

A visitation will occur Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. A funeral service for Larry will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Crossings Community Church, 14600 Portland Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73134. A graveside service will occur Friday, January 3, 2025 at 9:15 AM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
