

The trumpets were sounding as Lloyd DeWayne Eck walked through the heavenly gates on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. His heart filled with joy as he heard the words, “Welcome Home! Well done, my good and faithful servant. Your work on earth is complete.”
Lloyd DeWayne Eck began his journey of life on September 1, 1938 in Lahoma, Oklahoma. He was the first-born of Adam and Frances Eck. Lloyd was a man of humble roots and never forgot where he came from. He lost his father at the early age of ten and assumed a leadership role to assist his mother with his brother and sister. Along the way, he developed a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility to care for his family. These traits were an underlying theme throughout his entire life. Lloyd graduated high school in Lahoma, Oklahoma and furthered his education at Oklahoma City University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He was the owner of Central State Janitorial and provided commercial and residential services to many in the Oklahoma City/Edmond area.
Lloyd’s greatest passion in life was sharing his faith in God and ministering to those in need. He was active with the Church of God and also First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. He loved to travel the country and share God’s word. His favorite place to travel was Mexico. He loved the people and the culture and took many missionary trips with his family and friends to share the Gospel of the Lord.
Lloyd loved his family and instilled in his children the importance of living a good life and making a difference. He had a simple philosophy of living each day with peace and joy. He was a wonderful father and husband and will be dearly missed.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents: Adam Eck and Frances Eck Bliss Goodman; stepfather: Glenn Bliss; 2 brothers: Arlyn Eck and Dennis Bliss and one sister, Arnitta Wilson.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Vangie Eck of Edmond, Oklahoma; 3 daughters: Deborah and husband Andy Ortiz, Tempe, Arizona; Linda and husband Bob Bishop, Richmond, Virginia; Paula and husband Ed Kirkpatrick, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and one son, Scott Eck, Edmond Oklahoma; stepdaughters: Holly and husband Tyler Scheer, Edmond, Oklahoma; Rachel and husband Jack Sinclair, Edmond, Oklahoma, and one stepson, Patrick and wife Rhonda Price, Edmond, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren: David Meek, Tony Meek, Christina Clausen and husband Jayson, Becky White, Brent Bradley and wife Anna, Adam Benson and wife Lisa, Stephanie Benson, Alexandra Ortiz, Devin Price, Kaitlin Price, Jaxon Sinclair, Jantz Sinclair and Raygan Sinclair; 7 great- grandchildren: Christian Meek, Riley Clausen, Tillman Clausen, Lily White, Abel Benson and twins, Lenora and Faith Benson. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Lloyd loved his family and loved his God. His was a life well- lived. Tonight, as you gaze into the heavens, there is a new star. This new star is shining its’ light and gently whispering a message of love and encouragement to all, as they walk their journey of life.
